"The rosé was the consensus favorite with the meal. Very aromatic with cherry, strawberry, and raspberry on the nose. More cherry as well as watermelon and pear come through on the palate. Well-balanced and very refreshing with a long finish."

"Steve's wines have always been on the top of my list. Iit seems as if I can never get to them in time. They fly out of the winery. For once my timing wasn't off!"

"The saturation continues with a gush of blueberry juice, and is imbued with tones of dried orange peel, cinnamon bark and pencil shavings on a spicy, chewy sweet-dry tannin finish."
Wine Enthusiast, 9/2010
"There is lovely fruit here, with sweet grape, cherry and plum, followed by streaks of chocolate and caramel. This feels like a wine that could age beautifully."
Wino Magazine, 9/2010
"The palate is rich, as expected, but fluctuating between red and dark fruit, balanced by spice and structuring acidity. The tannin holds up the back, but only as a secondary characteristic to lush fruit and spice."

There's opulence in the nose from Les Collines and Va Piano vineyards, a theme of deep blackberry, blueberry and plum with hints of eucalyptus and cedar.

"Floral aromas dominate the nose; apricot, peach, and pear flavors come through on the palate. Off-dry, light-bodied and crisp with a long finish. Well-balanced and smooth."
Avalon Wines Review
"A refinement and balance at a time when so many new world Syrahs are over-the-top. An excellent value, and an Avalon Big Reds Club selection."
winter 2008-2009 WinePressNW
"The final production shows aromas of blackberries, Bing cherries, canned plums, a pinch of mint and black pepper. Lightly toasted oak doesn't get in the way of the layers of flavors, leading with blackberries and black cherry cola on the mid-palate."
Walla Walla UB
"This excellent rosé is round, ripe, and showing mixed cherry and apple fruit flavors, it's soft and accesible, with beautiful fruit and some delicate splice notes of cinammon and sandalwood."
Stephen Tanzer, 12/2008
juicy in the mouth, with perfumed flavors of sweet berries, mocha and meat. Subtly complex syrah with excellent aromatic persistence.

Deep rusty-pink color. Fruity aromas of melon and strawberry. Juicy, bright and fairly dry, with a faint leesy quality sexing up the fresh fruit flavors.Good zesty rosé.
Beyond the Bottle 10/2008
"On the eyes, the Trust riesling was a clear, light golden yellow. On the nose, there was the signature note of petrol combined with a floral, stone-fruit bouquet. On the palate, flavors of honey with some minerality all ending in a clean, crisp finish."
U.S. News & World Report, 10/2008
"For the first syrah blend I put together, I changed my mind so many times it was silly. Then, at the last second, I did what my gut told me to do and didn't listen to anyone else.... The syrah got 90 points."
Beyond the Bottle 7/2008
"The rosé and riesling were music to my ears, as I was in search of picking up more of these wines now summer is in full swing. After tasting both, I bought two bottles of each and can't wait to enjoy these at my table soon."
Wine Enthusiast 12/2007
Though quite dark, spicy, smoky, fragrant and seductive, this is a very flavorful wine. Citrusy acids underscore flavors of grapefruit and orange, but the core of the wine is straightforward, pure and ripe berry. It's not nice to fight the fruit with oak; the aromatics are beautiful.
Wild Walla Walla Wine Woman 12/2007
"The Riesling nose was floral and the taste of early summer orchard fruits came through such as peaches, apricots and the crispness of a Granny Smith apple. It was a delicate wine, yet undertones of mineral came through."
WinePress Northwest, fall 2007
"It's a big and busty bottling, but it's built to last with acidity and tannins or enjoy now with some baby back ribs. A long plummy finish has a dash of pepper and flick of cigar ash."
